busy, busy, busy
Well, finally the computer is running well enough to sit down at it and not want to smash it within the first five minutes! I really should not allow myself to get so angry at a machine! While I fume and sputter, as my blood pressure goes up (as surely it must) this darned thing sits there quite unfazed by my fits. Ms. Dell just stares back at me with a cool, calm, "I can only do what I can do" look. How I wish I could learn from this.
Over the weekend I kept busy, besides messing with the computer. I started a pair of earrings that I finished up today.
I did quite a bit to age the dragonfly pieces, shiny and new looking just would not do. I love freshwater pearls, especially when they are part of a vintage piece or mixed with the old-looking parts. I rather like the way they turned out. They are light as a feather which is a bonus. That sweet little fern is looking rather plucky, don't ya think? I also finished painting my $5.00 estate sale coffee table.
There she was, at the end of the day. She was sitting alone, forlorn in a grungy basement looking very worse for wear. My little table had been used and abused, it even had a rather large spot that looked as though something along the lines of nail polish remover had been spilled on it. For the money, how could I walk away from her? After a good scrubbing, sanding, several coats of paint, spot painting with Kilz, and a few more coats of paint, this table is lookin' fine! Now I am thinking that I need a chair with some caning on it to go with. I am also on the hunt for a small to mediumish size rug to go under and beyond the table. I need something with robin egg blue and some green, maybe some brown and off white. Now that we have painted the kitchen a very pretty light blue we need to lighten up the family room that is open to the kitchen. I think I will paint the walls green. O.K., rambling. Anyway, if I can't find a rug soon I will have to make something.
Along with the above projects we went to the farmers' market where I buy organic meat, organic veggies (when in season) and many other goodies. We drove out to my folks' house for dinner on Sunday. I hit the grocery store (oh yeah), did some yard work (the bulk was done by my Mr. while I supervised) and we took the dog for his first long walk of the season. I also worked on the crocheted baby blanket for my sis-in-law's baby shower this coming weekend. Whew, it was a busy one! After all that I feel less slug-like.
I am beat!
Night!

Cool blog. Your earrings are really neat! I like how you have them on a tree branch.
